This year has been the first for the SCDSB’s new blog entitled Sharing Simcoe. Employees have shared over 70 stories, including helpful tip sheets, events/activities and magical moments that have happened in our schools and educational facilities this school year – and what an amazing year it’s been! Together, we make our schools fabulous places to learn and grow.
Stories and tips will continue to be posted on Sharing Simcoe this summer – check it out at www.sharingsimcoe.com and feel free to get in touch with Marla Tomlinson, Communications Officer and Sharing Simcoe lead, at email@example.com to suggest story ideas, ask questions or provide feedback.
As Grade 8 students progress from elementary school to secondary school, important personal student information is shared which eases each student’s transition to secondary school. Sharing this information also improves our ability to program effectively to benefit all students. Select student information will be shared at different times as appropriate. The collection and use of personal student information for such purposes is authorized under sections 170, 171, 190 Part X and Part XIII of the Education Act. Please note that all information used for the transition process is limited, secure and protected at all times. Please contact Jackie Kavanagh, Superintendent of Education for this area, if you would like more information about the transition process at Bear Creek.
