Are you a grade 10 or 11 student this year? Would you like to use your leadership skills to develop even stronger leadership skills? Would you like to be a Link Leader for the 2014-2015 school year? Link Crew might be for you! Here are the steps to becoming a Link Leader.
A Lip Syncing Competition and $2 buyout will take place on period 2, Thursday, April 24th. Auditions will take place on April 14th – 17th. First place act wins $100! Any form of lip sync, music video cover, air bands, and choreography is encouraged.
Thursday, April 17th will be Me to We’s Day of Silence. Everyone is encouraged to participate by being silent, and not texting, for 24 hours. Pledges earned by participants will be given to Free the Children to help build a school in Kenya!
On May 29th, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm the Newcomer Welcome Centre will host a Newcomer Information Night for families that are new to Canada and would like to learn more about the educational system in Ontario. (more …)
Are you a Grade Nine students with an interest in Hockey and looking for something different for your 2014-15 Grade Ten English course? Consider registering for: English, Grade 10, Applied – Hockey Focus (ENG2PM).
Make no mistake, this IS an English course – there will still be writing, reading, and thinking – but we will be writing, reading, and thinking about hockey and hockey texts (stories, novels, plays, movies, poetry, and media).
See Mr. Garinger or your Guidance Counselor if you have any questions.
Prom 2014 is on Friday, May 23rd. There will be an assembly after Easter when further information will be provided to students. Tickets will be on sale the first week in May.
Commencement 2014 is on Thursday, June 26. Each student is eligible to receive two tickets which will be available in May. More tickets may be available on a first come, first serve basis.
Grade 11 students are invited to attend an information session during period 2, Tuesday, April 15th, in the cafetorium to learn about the many post-secondary opportunities that exist with university and college collaborative programs. Don’t think you’re ready for university yet? Perhaps looking for a more affordable solution? These questions and more will be addressed.
Grade 11 and 12 students at ten SCDSB high schools will have the option to take Advanced Placement (AP) courses starting September 2014. (more…)
