Bear Creek has been accepted into the Garden Gallery Fundraiser. This annual fundraiser makes possible the awards for our graduating Arts students and runs until October 15th. Before your purchase is rung in at either location of Garden Gallery/Bradford Greenhouses say, Bear Creek, please!
 
 
 
 

Students who are interested in applying for the role of Students’ Council President, Vice-President, Social Convener, or Grade Rep are encouraged to pick-up and fill out nomination forms outside of room 204. All forms are due by Wednesday, May 16th and can be submitted to Mrs. Brown or Mr. Brooks in room 205.

This year’s Arts Banquet will be on Wednesday, June 6th from 5:30-8:30. The banquet is open to any Arts student, and is a chance to celebrate our successes in the Arts. Tickets will be around $10 which includes food, celebration and entertainment.

Muskoka Language International is looking for host families to host Japanese girls attending Bear Creek for ESL classes from July 22 to August 4, 2012.Compensation is provided to host families to provide 3 meals a day plus snacks!

Students wishing to attend summer school should register at the SCDSB student portal.

This Semester’s Bear Creek Dance Recital will be taking place on Thursday, May 24th at 7 pm in our Cafetorium! Tickets are $5 each OR $3 if you bring in one canned food item per ticket requested, and can be purchased at the school from Mrs. McNamara or Miss Bruno. Tickets will be sold starting Monday, May 14th but they do sell out fast, so get them as soon as they come out! All canned food items collected will be donated to the Barrie Food Bank.

Prom is set for Friday, June 1st, 2012 at the Manor in Kettleby from 6:00 pm to midnight.  Tickets will be on sale beginning in May for $90 per person.

Free yoga classes are available for the first 160 students who return a signed permission form to Guidance. Download the permission form or pick one up in Guidance. Names will be placed on the list when the permission form has been received.
 
Yoga mats are provided and classes are free! Please wear comfortable clothing to allow flexibility. Classes take place in the dance studio during periods 3 & 4 on the following dates: Thursday, May 10, Thursday, May 17, Thursday, May 24, and Thursday, May 31. Students are asked to attend the class that is during their lunch period.

May is tracking month. Please submit your Kodiak paw student worksheet to T. Smith in room 153 by Wednesday June 6, 2012
