OSSLT Information Information<p>Grade 10 students will be writing the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) on the morning of Thursday, March 26, 2015. </p><p class="x_MsoNormal"> Transportation:</p><p class="x_MsoNormal">Students who are writing the OSSLT will be picked up at the regular time. Students who are not writing the test will be have bus pick-up 3.5 hours later.  *For instance, if your child who is not writing the OSSLT takes his/her bus at 7:02 am, the pick-up time will be at 10:32 am, on March 26. </p><p class="x_MsoNormal">Parents can learn more about the test and look at sample questions by following the parent links at the Education Quality and Accountability Office website:</p><p class="x_MsoNormal"> The time allocated for the OSSLT is 3 hours written in two 75 minute blocks. The balance of the time (30 minutes) is for preliminary instructions, a 15-minute break, and completion of the student questionnaire. Prior to the test day, student classroom lists and the afternoon schedule will be posted in the school. </p><p class="x_MsoNormal"> In-class OSSLT preparatory sessions and practice will be provided to all students writing the test. The sessions will alternate by periods on the days listed below. Students should listen for direction from their classroom teachers. *Students who are re-writing the OSSLT will report to the library for each of the sessions after attendance has been taken in their classes. Likewise, students who are in grade ten but not enrolled in a grade ten class during any of the sessions listed below will report to the cafeteria after attendance has been taken. ALL STUDENTS writing the OSSLT are expected to attend all preparatory sessions.</p><p class="x_MsoNormal">Period 1: Monday, March 9<br>Period 2: Tuesday, March 10<br>Period 4: Wednesday, March 11<br>Period 5: Thursday, March 12</p><p class="x_MsoNormal"> </p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>

The SCDSB is a Ministry Approved Beginner Driver Education Course Provider. Learn to drive over the March Break in Barrie, Alliston and Collingwood. OSSLT Information Information<p>​This year’s OSSLT will be held March 26, 2015. This is a graduation requirement which all grade ten students must complete.  <span class="contextualExtensionHighlight ms-font-color-themePrimary ms-border-color-themePrimary">Bear Creek Secondary School is offering a program (TIPS) at lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning February 17th through to March 24th from 10:45-11:45 am in room 127.</span>   Permission forms are available at the front office. TIPS is open to all grade ten students and those who are repeating the OSSLT. </p>
